Election Nominations
Nominations are now OPEN. Please fill out the nomination forms by September 6th.
PERCoGS is a graduate student society run by PER graduate students for PER graduate students. While any PER graduate student can get involved as a "Member-at-Large", we have four elected positions that are responsible for our core activities. These are:
President
Leads PERCoGS leadership team in carrying out core activities throughout the year, this includes:Chairing team meetings one to two times a month.
Being responsible for PERCoGS assets, including the website, google drive, and mailing lists.
Lead PERCoGS' relationship with external groups, including applying for our yearly AAPT Summer Meeting slots and leading any grant applications.
Vice-President
Previously this position was the Secretary role.
Supports the president in leading the PERCoGS team, including:Organisation of meetings, which may include setting the schedule and taking minutes.
Sharing responsibility and management for PERCoGS assets.
Organises activities at the AAPT Summer Meeting.
Publicist
Leads the promotion and reporting of PERCoGS activities to PER graduate students, including:Editing the PERCoGS newsletter.
Connecting with PER graduate students to promote their work.
Lead the reporting of PER graduate student activity at events such as AAPT.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer
Promote DEI throughout PERCoGS activities and ensure activities align with the needs of the PER graduate student community. Including:Act as a friendly point of contact for PER graduate students to raise issues with PERCoGS.
Develop and lead new initiatives to support DEI within the PER graduate student community.
Monitoring and improving internal PERCoGS processes to ensure they benefit the community and the leadership team in a DEI-friendly way.
Member-at-large
A role of what you make it! This role could be used to:Apprentice into another role, such as Publicist.
For former officers to continue to contribute their expertise for the team.
It could also be taken up by individuals who have ideas for working on a specific project that would benefit PER grad students in our community.
